Collaborative Opportunities in September
- After being closed the first week of school, we were excited to have our English II classes visit to check out nonfiction titles and to sign up for Turn It In. We saw Ms. Wedgworth's classes, Ms. Johnson's classes, Mr. Reinhard's classes, and Ms. Mill's classes.
- Students from Mr. DelCastillo's, as well as those from Ms. Steifvater's, English IV classes visited early in September to register for Turn It In and to check out books.
- Ms. Caamano's English III classes completed a pre-reading assignment by researching topics related to The Crucible. Their final product was an informative poster created in groups.
- Mr. Stevens' Theater students visited the library to search digital resources to locate monologues to perform in their classes.
- An essay was the final product for Ms. Sadovsky's English III classes visiting the library.
- Ms. Smith's Spanish III students spread out in the library classroom to complete large posters related to a unit study.
Collaborative Opportunities in October
- With the new renovations completed and new computer tables delivered, we welcomed many classes in October. Mr. Delcastillo's English IV students returned to research themes related to Elizabethan times and Hamlet. They received instruction on searching for digital sources in databases and digital reference books, and completing Annotated Bibliographies.
- Students in Ms. Morrow's ASL 3 classes searched in digital sources for information about famous deaf people and their influences in the hearing and deaf community.
- Ms. Schmitt's, Ms. Voss's, and Ms. Charlton's English III students were instructed on searching in databases for sources about an issue of their choice. They completed digital notes including citations, paraphrasing and summarizing, and reflections about each of these sources. The final product at this time was an annotated bibliography.
- All IPC students, from Ms. Rodriguez's, Ms. Garcia's, Ms. Tyndall's, and Mr. Proctor's classes, researched various forms of energy and completed booklets in Publisher.
- Coach Koch's speech classes visited the library to complete a four-year plan for their academic careers.
- Ms. Johnson's English II students returned to the library to check out fiction titles for self-selected reading.
- English IV students in Ms. Mann's classes visited the library to receive instruction on searching in databases for information on specific philosophers. They will be creating presentations for a lesson for their peers on the philosopher and his ideas.
