In Touch with TG

March 16, 2023

Dear Toll Gate Families,

Report cards will be available in OnCourse tomorrow afternoon. Please remember as we move throughout the year, the progression of student learning standards, does become more rigorous. If you have a question about a score on your child's report card, please feel free to email your child's teacher.

The PTO Book Fair kicks off next week. Your child should have received a Scholastic Book Fair Flyer yesterday. Please take a moment and review it with your child. The online shopping begins tomorrow, Friday, 3/17.

Enjoy the spring weather,

Jane-Ellen

Character Strong | Cooperation | Week 3

Big picture
As we focus this month on Cooperation, the students are getting plenty of opportunities to practice cooperating in their specials. Mrs. Horsley has been leading the students in a variety of activities that focus on cooperation skills.

We also use the Tree of Choices when talking about students about conflicts that may arise when people cannot cooperate. Consider using the three branches (talk it out, move it out or breathe it out) at home when your child has difficulty with a problem.

Principal Read Aloud This Week

Big picture

In all the world over, this much is true:
You’re somebody special. There’s only one YOU.”

This feel-good book reassures kids that, whoever and whatever they are, it’s awesome being YOU! Expertly written to include all kinds of children and families, it embraces the beauty in a range of physical types, personalities, and abilities. Kids will love discovering and recognizing themselves in these pages—and they’ll feel proud to see their special qualities acknowledged. Adorable illustrations by Rosie Butcher show a diverse community that many will find similar to their own.
