JH Art Project
After reviewing the elements of art in their sketchbooks, 7th and 8th graders in Fundamentals of Art completed their first assignment, "Shaded Spheres."
Students used templates and compasses to create a composition of circles that filled the paper, showed variety in size and overlapped often to create feeling of space. Then they shaded each circle according to one light source to create the illusion that they were spheres.
Elements of art learned: Line, shape, space, form, value.
Principles of art learned: Contrast, variety.
Art vocabulary learned: Composition, positive space, negative space, light source, gradation.
It is a pleasure to be at Eielson as the art teacher this semester. The students did a wonderful job on this assignment and I am looking forward to see their future artwork!

Message from Terry Renson
Just an update on some ideas I have for the 2019 Grad Bash. I have a meeting at the Fitness Center on Tuesday to discuss using their facility the evening of 14 May from around 2130-0100 on 15 May. I thought we could have the following events:
Swimming, Basketball Tournament, Card and Boards games, the big Human Ball game and maybe even Sumo Wrestling.
I am going to request funds from both the Officer and Enlisted Spouses Clubs .
I plan on getting with the following businesses to request donations:
Pizza Hut for pizzas
Sunrise Bagel and Espresso for $5 gift cards
Carrs/Safeway for soda
Commissary to see if they can donate any chips or snacks
I will check with some other businesses because I would really like to have a gift bag for each graduate who attends.
If anyone has any ideas or recommendations please have them email me. I can be reached at this email or mtrenson@yahoo.com or my cell 907-322-3161.
Thanks.
