OurSCHOOL Survey
PARENT/GUARDIAN SURVEY REQUEST - IMPORTANT
Parents/Guardians of students at each MHPSD school are being asked to participate in an online school survey called the OurSCHOOL Parent Survey. As a school division, and as individual schools, we want to hear from the perspectives of students, parents/guardians, and teachers. The combination of this feedback will support our staff with setting priorities, celebrating effective practices, and identifying opportunities for growth.
About the OurSCHOOL Parent/Guardian Survey:
Allows you to provide your feedback anonymously into school initiatives, though you can always include your name in the comments if you choose.
The survey is voluntary, however we encourage you to participate, so we get a better understanding how you feel the school supports learning, positive behaviour and promotes a safe and inclusive environment
The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and must be completed in one sitting. The link to the survey will be sent in a separate email.
Thank you for your time and commitment to completing the survey. This type of evidence supports the importance of reflecting and considering our collective and individual work in supporting students and learning in our school.
The survey needs to be completed by April 30th, 2021.
Alberta Education Assurance Survey (Grade 4-6 parents/guardians)
Ross Glen parents/guardians with students in Grades 4-6 will soon receive access to the online Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) Survey from Alberta Education. This AEA Survey is similar to and replaces the previous Accountability Pillar Survey. All teachers and Grades 4-6 students also complete the survey at school. All surveys are anonymous and ask questions about experiences at Ross Glen for this current school year. Please note this parent/guardian survey is to be completed prior to April 23rd. Thank you.
The AEA Survey seeks to determine how parents, students and teachers perceive the quality of education they receive. Alberta Education’s Assurance Survey provides the basis for accountability and public assurance in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 education system. Results show which measures have improved, which have remained constant and which have declined. It allows everyone – parents, teachers, school authorities, students and the province – to celebrate successes and respond to opportunities for growth together. Schools and school authorities are expected to share their results and plans for improvement with the community so they can review them. At a glance, the results point out successes and areas for growth from both a local and provincial perspective.
At Ross Glen we want to continue with our areas of strength and also improve even further, the learning experience of all of our students. Therefore, we are asking for your help to please participate in this online survey when you receive it from AB Education. The more parent surveys submitted will provide us with richer and more reliable data. It is also another opportunity in which your parental voice, which we value, will be heard.
Details about the assurance measures and how to obtain results are available online at www.alberta.ca/accountability-education-system.aspx
We would like to thank families, students, and staff for their efforts and flexibility during this unusual time of COVID. Health rules, and moving to and from at-home learning, have led to changes in routine and the way parents engage with schools. That’s why it is more important than ever to hear from you.
Just a few points to please keep in mind: please base your responses on perceptions on this current school year at RG, please try to choose a response on the survey other than “Don’t Know” as this choice can mean many different things and is therefore difficult to interpret when we plan for further improvement. Related, if a question is not applicable to you, you should leave the response blank or select N/A. On-line survey responses will not be saved and submitted until respondents click “Submit”. So, it is recommended that the survey is completed and submitted in one sitting. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call us at (403) 529-2960. Thank you for your support and participation with this important survey.
