2019 Blaze Bulletin
Week of April 8th - Edition 57
Dear faculty/staff:
Great testing start! Great academic celebration of our seniors and their next steps! Two jeans days! What a fantastic short week!
Shout out to our substitute tech support (Mosier, Covington, Fortel, Price, Baumann). Shout out to the testing team of #happyPedigo, Smith, Hardison, Seadorf, Jenkins, Nordin, Heckman). Shout out to Coach Mac and his AV kids. Shout out to APs who envisioned (K Reed was thinking outside the box again) and implemented GameDay. Shout out to faculty who lead various areas of GameDay and involved parents. Shout out to Deans who helped keep the environment focused. Shout out to every teacher on this campus who proctored, supervised, & taught all week. Shout out to office staff and plant staff who kept it all between the lanes and jumped in to help and kept smiling when they had to be flexible. I’m in awe of all you handle and all you do. It’s great to be a part of Team Blackman!
You all are appreciated! Go Blaze!
Have a great long weekend,
-lj

*Please let us know about any seniors you’re concerned about.
*Note from our Graduation Coach, Kim Garrott—Teachers, this is the time of the year where we must have hard conversations about student failing for the year and sometimes seniors possibly not graduating. Just a reminder—the first call home about a student failing your class needs to come from you. During this call, please let them know what they need to make during this last quarter and semester to pass for the year. This is especially important for our seniors! Once you’ve made the call, please let that student’s counselor and me (the Grad Coach) know that you’ve made contact. Thank you for much for what you do and how hard you work!
*Shout out to Mr. Pedigo for helping us all get through the first week of testing and being so cool about it! You’re the best!
*We've attached an article on how to manage stress and calm thoughts about standardized testing 😊
We are so thankful to be part of this team! Go Blaze! 🔥
