Last full week before exams
Thank you for quickly getting back into the swing of things our first week back from Thanksgiving break. This is a critical week for grades for many of our students as we wrap up the last full week of instruction before beginning Semester Exam Week.
EOC retesting is this week in the upstairs D-Hall. Please be flexible with those students that may miss your class due to EOC retesting.
This Friday, MHS will be hosting several school districts from the High Performing Schools Consortium for a meeting in the downstairs flex space. This meeting will include superintendents and assistant superintendents. If you have a classroom near that area, please help us with crowd control around the flex space.
A couple of housekeeping items related to exams: students may not take exams early. During exam week it is important to keep students in class even if they finish early. No passes to the library, please.
No tutoring bus next week.
How about a little fun this week?

Did you know...
McKinney High School built a new auditorium in 1940 that seated 1,040. This held more people than the auditorium we have today. In 1940, MHS had 112 graduates. This year, we expect more than 500.

Dress Code
Thank you for all of your help in enforcing the dress code. I freely admit dress code is number 75 of things I like doing but a necessary evil. Here are a few reminders as we close out the semester:
- Don't forget tights are okay if the shirt is long and loose enough, i.e. covers the bottom.
- Sagging is not okay. If a student has a belt, they can pull up their pants and tighten their belt.
- Be extra vigilant during periods 1-3.
Helping our Students in Need
Thought of the week
Complaining is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but does not get you anywhere.
Remember if there is policy or procedure that is not working for you, please let me know. The door is always open. That being said, if you would like a hand in problem solving for MHS, the Operations Leadership Team will be meeting in F101 this Tuesday. All are welcome to attend.
