CHS Swim Team- AHSAA State Championship

The CHS swim team competed this weekend in the AHSAA State Championship swim meet held at Auburn University. Among our 10 qualifying bearcats, all 10 were able to progress to Saturday evening finals in at least one event within the highly competitive, combined 6A/7A division. Throughout the meet, each swimmer was able to secure season best times in their events, including three new school records. Individually, Madison dropped under the 1:00 minute mark in the 100 yard butterfly and just under 2:00 in the 200 yard freestyle to break school records in each event during Saturday's finals. Additionally, the girl's 200 yard freestyle relay of Ruby, Anna, Morgan, and Madison, combined for a time of 1:44.17 and a new school record to cap off an awesome senior season for Madison, Anna, and Ruby. Other finalists included Ella in the 200 freestyle; the girl's 400 freestyle relay of Mika, Anna , Ella, and Morgan; and the guy's 200 yard freestyle relay of Hilson, Rhett , Luke , and Chase who combined to drop 4 seconds off of their initial state qualifying time.

This meet's success represented months of hard work and dedication from a special group of swimmers and a fantastic finish for our three seniors, Anna, Madison, and Ruby.
