Board Recognition: Maryellen Nealis
The Board of Education recognized, commended and thanked Maryellen Nealis, a Cafeteria Aide at Robert Hunter School, for her recent heroic act. On April 27, Ms. Nealis demonstrated swift, diligent and exemplary action when she noticed a child was exhibiting signs of choking during lunch. Ms. Nealis immediately assessed the situation, performed the Heimlich maneuver and successfully relieved the child from distress. Ms. Nealis thwarted a potentially life-threatening circumstance and ensured the child’s health and safety. The District is so proud of and grateful to Ms. Nealis for her outstanding dedication in supporting every student, every day, at every opportunity. Thank you, Ms. Nealis, for your distinguished service to our students, to the Robert Hunter School community and to the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District.
