City Wide Garage Sale Donations
Small items may be brought into the Extension Office during the month of April. Larger items or bulk donations may be brought to the Fairgrounds Saturday, April 28 from 9:30 to 11:30am or call the office to have the building unlocked at a time which is convent for you.
Re-Enrolling in 4-H

Volunteers should also enroll online as well. As a registered volunteer with 4-H you will be covered under our liability insurance which will act as a secondary insurance in case of an injury during a 4-H sectioned event.

Scrapies Tags
NEW for 2018: The official identification for COUNTY and STATE FAIR for all classes of goats and sheep is a Scrapies Tag.
Before you can get Scrapies Tags, you must have a premise ID number and a Flock ID number, which the Department of Agriculture can assign to you. Call them at 402-434-2300.
Scrapies tags may be purchased from Allflex. The cost of the tags is the families responsibility. The Extension Office has a universal tagger available.

At Sheep and Goat Weigh In (June 6)
- All animals must have their scrapies tags in their ears, or
- Families must bring their own scrapies tags which are tied to their flock ID number to weigh in to be tagged at the fairgrounds
** Sheep and Goats will not be ID (and not allowed to show) if they do not have a scrapies tag by weigh in **

Broilers
Looking for a fun 4-H project this year? Consider participating in the Broiler Project, awards are given for showmanship, pen of 3 broilers, individual broiler pen and production records during the County Fair poultry show. Broilers are also eligible to be sold at the 4-H Premium Sale.
Broiler chicks will be purchased in bulk from Whelp hatchery. The first 10 birds are free and the additional birds will be $1.20 a chick. Additional chicks may be ordered in groups of 5. Complete the sign up form and return it and a check to the Extension Office by April 13.
Chick delivery is estimated for May 30.

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA)
Contact the office for the $12 coupon code, to schedule a test out date, or with any questions.
Instructions on how to complete the online modules:
- Go to yqca.org from your computer browser and select Sign In/Register Tab.
- Sign in and register using the 4-H Online box. Select the name of your organization from the pick list Nebraska 4-H Youth Development. Use your 4-H Online user name and password to start the process.
- Select the member name taking the course. Select the age of the member in the appropriate box. When the age is selected the appropriate courses will be selected. Select online choice.
- Select payment method coupon code and enter coupon code.
- After completing the three courses be sure to save and print out a completion certificate and take it to your Extension Office.

As you are planning your yard game, make sure to identify a class within the fair book.

As clubs and families plan their projects, it is recommended to review the curriculum project manual and pick out exhibit classes before beginning the project.
Summer Workshop Volunteers
If you are interested in teaching a summer workshop centered around a 4-H Curriculum area or project contact the Extension Office by April 15. High school aged 4-Hers are encouraged to sign up to plan and lead projects for community service or college resume experience!
