Veteran's Day

Thank you to all of the members of our community who have served in our nation's armed forces. Diana Salinas put together a tribute video that is available here and on our You Tube channel.

Food Drive

We are holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive for those in need. Donations will benefit agencies that give food and other forms of assistance, including our St. Vincent DePaul Society. The food drive will begin Monday, November 16th. Students will drop their donations off on the way to Mass on Tuesdays (K-4) and Thursdays (5-8). We are especially in need of cereals, canned meats (tuna, salmon), pasta (spaghetti, macaroni and cheese), and peanut butter. THANK YOU for helping those less fortunate.

Thank you to all of those families who supported our 2020 Shake, Rattle and Roll Auction! We appreciate ALL that you do! We anticipate final numbers in the next week.

Covid Update

Since our last Viking Voice of November 5th, we have had three more students who were already quaratined test positive for COVID-19 virus. All of our positive student cases (4) are in our first grade which has been quarantined since November 2nd.

The first grade is due back November 17th except for those students who have tested positive. They have various dates of return, depending upon their positive status.

We continue to have students throughout all of our grades who are quarantining because they had contact with an individual who tested positive outside of school. Currently, that number stands at 9. They are quarantining because they have a sibling in first grade or have had an exposure outside of school (parent, grandparent, etc.)

We have seen an uptick in students who are exhibiting various symptoms. Our policy requires us to ask students who are having two or more symptoms to remain at home until a physician has verified that they have a non-COVID illness or until they test negative for the virus or are symptom free.

Our policy requires that we notify parents of students who have had direct contact with a student or staff member who tested positive. We do not release names but will notify parents using a phrase similiar to "a student in your grade has tested positive for COVID 19 and we are therefore quarantining the class."

Please know that we are doing everything that we can to keep your student safe but please understand that cases are rapidly rising throughout the region and this disease is both serious and very communicable. Masks, hand washing, and social distancing are still the best ways to protect yourself and loved ones.
