Kindergarten Update
September 20, 2016
Sorry for the delay...
Last week's fun...
*We completed Topic 1 of our math series.
*We were able to meet twice with our third grade buddies from Mrs. Haas' third grade class. We made key rings with them on Tuesday, and then the third graders helped the Kindergartners read online books about national symbols as an added activity for Constitution Day.
*We had a fun indoor Wolf Walk!
This week's fun...
*We'll begin Topic 2 in the math series which centers on comparing and ordering numbers 0-5.
*During Writer's Workshop, we will learn about some basic conventions of print, such as determining the difference between letters, words, and sentences; and that writing goes from top to bottom and left to right.
*We'll begin our first unit in our reading series. This unit discusses how each of us is special and the differences which make us special.
*We will continue to practice rotations. This week the students will be practicing letter identification and sounds as well as rhyming.
Important dates...
*Friday, Sept. 23: No school for Kindergarten due to professional development. Grades 1-5 will be dismissed at 11:45.
*Tuesday, Sept. 27: School picture day...envelopes/order forms were sent home about 10 days ago. There is an option to order pictures online. If you need another order form, please let me know.
*Thursday, Sept. 29: Library check out
Have a great week!
