Verizon Innovative Learning Schools Chromebook Devices Are Here!
Last month we officially distributed our new Chromebook devices to our VILS middle schools in the district. We had three wonderful events at McKinley Community School, Lincon Annex School, and the New Brunswick Middle School. Thank you to all staff who supported those events, and helped make them a success for our schools.
A special thank you to our student Tech Teams at each of our VILS schools, who not only ran our robotic stations but helped organize, distribute devices, and supported our Technolgy Department throughout the day. You truly are amazing!
The main components of the VILS program include:
Providing dedicated devices and accessories for all students and teachers in participating schools teaching grades 6-8.
Devices distributed are each equipped with at least 30GB of data monthly year-round to be used in school and at home.
Full-time, STEM Specialists are available to coach and ensure all teachers are supported and successful in supporting student learning with technology.
Professional learning is also available and focused on leveraging mobile technology to improve student learning and to create new and innovative learning opportunities for students, including out of school and around STEM.
