A Grateful Heart by Jazmine Misola, Class of 2024
BEGIN EACH DAY WITH A GRATEFUL HEART
I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you,
praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you,
because of your partnership for the gospel from the first day until now.
And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more
in knowledge and every kind of perception, to discern what is of value,
so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ
for the glory and praise of God.
~From Saint Paul’s Letter to the Philippians, Ch. 1:1-5, 9-11
Dear Saint Clare School Families,
Congratulations to our second graders who received their First Holy Communion at the 10:30 Sunday Family Mass. We have a few more who will receive on May 7th. We are grateful to their catechists and their parents for walking this journey with them.
WITH A GRATEFUL HEART
Many thanks to the committee for the hours of preparation for tomorrow’s Golf Tournament. Led by Margarita Guizar, they have been hard at work to make sure this event is one that builds community while raising funds for the school. If you couldn’t golf, perhaps you can bid on the items being offered at the Silent Auction, or attend the festivities tomorrow night. You can find all the information you need in the PTG posts.
I join Margarita in acknowledging the efforts of her team of dedicated volunteer parents. Most of all, I commend Margarita for her vision and for her perseverance. Congratulations and thank you to all of you!
As Margarita noted in an email to me, there are a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes, and this group of volunteers truly partnered with one another to lead their individual responsibilities, despite their already busy lives.
Stephanie Torres – has done and continues to do tremendous work on the silent auction, from working with our vendor to put the site together to selecting the items to go one our site
Vanessa Vanuelos – is actively making sure we have good food and drinks, and a festively decorated and smoothly run reception
Jackie Edem – who has so efficiently whipped up the collateral for the event to ensure consistency in messaging and branding
Roger Hechema – who helped in meeting with vendors to try and pull sponsors for the event
Patricia Mendoza – who got hundreds of emails out to our community, our previous attendees, and our alumni
Tina Lardizabal – Margarita’s partner in planning/organizing the event, who also pulled silent auction items in addition to the already robust list that the vendor provided
Please know that your efforts do not go unnoticed. We know that events like these do not run themselves, and certainly, the tuition we collect does not pay for staff to run them. Our support by acquiring sponsorships, inviting people to participate in the event, the silent auction, and the evening celebration shows our gratitude for the many hours spent putting the Golf Tournament together to benefit the needs of our students. As always, I am grateful to you for your partnership in making sure our community continues to support and appreciate one another.
A ROUSING PERFORMANCE AT THE CHORAL FESTIVAL
Thank you to the parents who drove our students to the Choral Festival at Sacred Heart Saratoga. Their performance of “Price Tag” brought the house down and got the loudest applause from the audience. I am grateful to Ms. Annastasia Brown for her leadership in allowing our students to shine not just in their performance, but in the development of their character. We thank the choir and their families for their support. Our liturgical choir leads music ministry every week at our School Masses. They have grown tremendously in the short amount of time under Ms. Anna’s guidance.
TRACK TEAM SUCCESS: WHAT A SHOWING, WILDCATS!
Our six-member track team won six medals at today’s Track Meet at Archbishop Mitty High School! Congratulations to Tristan F., Chloe P., Emma L., Emma T., Meley B., Julia A. and Romina A.V. We are sooo proud of them! We thank Ms. Valerye and their parents for their support and for cheering them on.
