Attention Students!
For all those in need of service hours for NJHS
Are you someone who is tech-savvy and has used various Google Apps such as these?
Join us for "We Empower" 2014!
If so, sign up to lead a 45 minute session for your Woodridge District 68 K-8 teachers during this year's "We Empower" professional development day on
Friday, December 12th, 2014.
You will receive NJHS service hours for participating!
We are looking for students to provide tutorials on how to use various Google Drive products (docs, sheets, forms, slides, draw, etc.) as well as any other site/webtool that you would find beneficial for our staff to learn about to use in the classroom with students! You can do this solo or team up with other students to present. The event is on a non-attendance day.
During this event, we are looking to involve students in order to...
- Lead workshop sessions to train teachers on a Google Drive tool (docs, forms, presentation, draw, etc.)
- Lead workshops on various webtools or technology strategies that help improve overall teaching and learning
- Lead workshops in which students share stories of how technology/Chromebook access has helped improve their overall student education
- Assist as technology facilitators throughout the day (help teachers with various technologies and getting onto our wifi, etc.)
Workshops are "spotlight" sessions - informal and brief presentations students will give to teachers. Presentations can be tutorials on how to use a web tool (like Google Presentation) or a showcase of a project they created in which they felt their learning was taken to the next level because of the use of technology.
