We have some exciting news on our renovation project. Monday October 19th will be the first day of classes for students in the new wing. Our renovation is in the final stages of cleaning and preparing for students. As you already know, this new wing will offer us a tornado rated shelter for our students and staff. This expansion also enhances our culinary arts department, upgraded chemistry lab, and 3 new classes that will house foreign language. Thanks so much for everyone's patience and hard work as we adjust to this new addition.
I also would like to give a big thanks to all the parents, staff, and students for the preparation for Fall Festival. It should be a beautiful day tomorrow with plenty of fun and excitement that benefits all the students at VAISD.
Hope to see everyone tomorrow!

STUDENT'S OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to our Students of the Month for September: Alex Lovitt (Junior), Morgan Caldwell (Sophomore) Riley Cooper (Senior), Ashton Swift (Freshman)
Each of these students will receive a pizza from Romano's.
VAHS BAND HEADS TO COMPETITION
The Van Alstyne Panther Band is having their first contest of the season this upcoming Saturday at the Aubrey High School Football Stadium. The band will perform their 2015 show titled “Beyond” starting at 3:30 pm. The band has the opportunity to advance to state this year, and they want to start off on a good note.
Junior Drum Major, Alex Roddy, says “I'm super pumped about our upcoming contest at Aubrey, and I'm even more excited to witness the outcome of this year's marching season. Our show is absolutely "stellar" and I can't wait to completely crush it at our first checkpoint on the long road to state.”
VAHS CULINARY ARTS
Culinary Arts students prepare delicious and fresh lunches for faculty and staff each week, both on the high school campus, as well as the middle and elementary campuses.
The picture below captures the beautiful display of the decadent dessert, Chocolate Pot de Creme, and the scrumptious Chopped Salad.
During Panther Pride guidance lessons are presented twice a month. This week we talked about Paying it Forward. How can you change our community through Random Acts of Kindness? This is a great conversation for every family to have!
SENIORS, when you get an acceptance letter please turn it in to Mrs. Madison so it can be hung on the wall!
