SBAC Testing COMING in APRIL! "Keep Calm and Believe in Yourself! You've Got This!"
We do get very valuable feedback from this test that helps us create our school goals to meet the needs of our student population. We do recognize this is just one measure of your child's learning. We will do everything possible to reduce any testing anxiety and create a positive climate for completing the test.
We want all of our children to have a positive testing experience so we recommend that parents can help the following:
*Make sure your child has a good night's sleep
*Make sure your child has a healthy breakfast (avoid sugars)
*Make sure your child is dressed comfortably as they will be sitting for a longer period of time
*Keep the morning calm and try to arrive early to avoid any rushing
*Write your child little notes of encouragement and give them positive verbal affirmations
*Check in daily and allow a safe space for your child to talk about the tests. Encourage your child to breath and just do their best. If your child is feeling an unhealthy stress, please notify your child's teacher.
If you have concerns about your child, please reach out to your child's teacher before testing.
Also, your child's teacher has a testing schedule and will notify you in advance so you can schedule appointments around the schedule.
Lastly, our theme is, "Keep Calm and Believe in Yourself! You've Got this!" We encourage you to use this slogan at home too. Posters will go up all over campus when we return from Spring Break with this positive message.
