Senior Costume Tradition

We will continue our tradition of seniors (ONLY) having the option to dress for Halloween on Tuesday. Seniors must:

  • Dress appropriately and follow dress code policy
  • NO masks or anything covering faces
  • No silly string

It Starts With Hello

Great kickoff to celebrate and take care of one another at SHS! Over 400 students and staff planted a crocus bulb and signed a pledge to end bullying and social isolation! Thanks to SPP, our SADD Club, and Scituate gardening club for making this happen!

Quarter One Ends November 2nd

The window for quarter one grades will close on Thursday, November 2nd. SHS families will receive an email of student grades on November 9th. As was the case last year, student report cards will no longer be printed however, report cards can be printed at the request of a parent by contacting the guidance office.

From Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science

Picture with the Maniken: Human Body System students are learning about how the nervous system is the communication system of the body. Students are learning about the function of the major areas of the brain and sculpting the anatomically correct sections, locations and to scale using their Manikens.


Picture with girls looking at microscope and hand holding a slide: Honors Biology students are learning about the carbon and water cycles by focusing on where in the leaves does gas exchange occurs. The cycling of carbon and water through plant stomata and the factors influencing the movement of these gases are explored by removing the outer section of the leaf and examining the result of hydration and dehydration on stomata.

PE and Health

Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity and Physical Education improves health and academic outcomes! Activity focused PE can contribute to increased academic performance, improved attendance and positive classroom behavior.


MVPA= helps prevent obesity

MVPA= improves muscular and bone development

MVPA= reduces anxiety and stress

MVPA= improves self esteem

MVPA= helps with mood and concentration

MVPA= reduces risk of disease
