Scholarly News
Room 314
August 19, 2013
We had a great first week. Each of the scholars created a wonderful digital collage about themselves. I emailed each of you a copy and hopefully you were able to look at it. It is one example of the types of assignments that your children will be creating this year. Here are the weekly highlights. Don't forget to sign up for Remind101. Be sure to sign up for "General" and your child's specific grade level.
History of Silly Putty
Little Free Library
Island of the Blue Dolphins

We will start out the week finishing a story that we read on Friday about how Silly Putty was created. On Tuesday I will do an assessment on what the students remember from last year to determine where to start. On Wednesday we will read a story called "Little Free Library." On Thursday we will go over vocabulary words in a story from Six Way Paragraphs called "King of Beasts." The students will read the passage for homework and on Friday they will discuss their answers in a group.

By Tuesday, the students should have read chapters 6-7. Every night, the students will need to re-read what we have read in class. If your child is absent, please make sure that he/she keeps up with the chapters.
