Never Ever Quit!
What drives you?
I've watched the video above multiple times but every time it makes me feel just as inspired as the first time I saw it. The ending says, "if you've never failed, you've never tried anything new." We talked last Wednesday about having a growth mindset and being able to instill that in our students, but how can we do that if we don't feel that way ourselves? When I think back on my time in the gym and the classroom I can think of multiple, I repeat multiple, times that I failed. I would have this amazing idea for a new game or lesson that was going to work perfectly and the students were going to catch right on and understand everything I was saying. Then when we got started they were lost, I was frustrated, and it was back to the drawing board! Has this ever happened to you? Did you give up? If this happens to you I hope that you take the opportunity to share this learning moment with your students, let them see that everyone fails at some point. The true growth happens after the failure, what will you do next? One of my favorite quotes is from the amazingly wise Rocky Balboa, "It ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward." So let's use Rocky to spring us into this weeks question, this will be a tough one. What is one of your favorite movie quotes, is it inspiring, or just funny?
