Vote for Jefferson

"Our constitution is a promise. And that promise we keep."

by:Michelle Kanto p.6

He Co-founded the Democratic- Republicans

Jefferson and his party were very fond of a strong national government. They believed that the Constitution was "strict" about its limited powers of the federal government. Democratic Republicans did not have the right to "adopt additional powers" to maintain and accomplish their duties under our constitution.

Democratic-Republicans wanted the U.S. and our economy to be based on agriculture. He also said the U.S. should be the 'agricultural provider for the rest of the world.' Which meant that if American farmers produced a surplus, we could sell crops overseas, and use that money to buy other things from other countries.

Jefferson also believed that farmers would work hard to fee their families and keep their property happily. He also says that all adult, white men, should have the right to vote, and serve in office as long a they own a somewhat property.
