PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PBL)
Project based learning (PBL) is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge. Here is a video based on a PBL conducted in the 2nd grade GT classroom. Students had to research then create a solution to deal with citywide flooding. Consider the big questions when challenging your students and allow them to discover and dig deeper! Looking for ideas? Here is a link to the Tomball PBL Library.
