Breeze Hill Weekly Update

June 3, 2022

Message from the Principal

It is hard to believe this is our last issue of the Breeze Hill Weekly Update for the 2021-2022 school year. We are busy wrapping up with closing procedures and celebrations.

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our PTA board and members for consistently supporting our students and staff this year through these chaotic times. Our entire PTA board and parents met regularly and worked many hours behind the scenes to bring positive programs and recognition to our students and staff.

While we have had some challenges this school year, we have worked with families and the faculty to ensure a safe school for our students. This is always an area of top priority and we appreciate all of our families who have worked with us to help educate our students on the impact of their actions as well as remind our students if they see something they need to say something. With the tragic event that took place in Texas, this is a good time to discuss safety procedures and reporting. As always we are continually working as a staff to ensure safety and protocols are followed.

While we have faced challenges this year, we also have made tremendous progress both academically and as a school. Our data from FastBridge shows consistent growth with our students and doing their best through unprecedented times. Through wearing masks, and constant handwashing, social distancing all our students gave their best and kept their focus on being the best Coyote they can be.

Please read through the rest of the bulleting for information regarding 5th Grade Promotion, Minimum day on the last day of school, and Yearbook information.

On behalf of the Breeze Hill Staff we wish you a positive end of the school year and a safe summer. We will see you all in August.

Greg Giroux, Principal

Letty Cimino, Assistant Principal

5th Grade Promotion

The ceremony will take place on Monday, June 6th at Breeze Hill Elementary School on the grass field at 9:00 AM. We hope that you will be able to attend. We will open Gate 4 for entry at 8:30 AM.

Every year we experience a wonderful turnout for this occasion and would love for the family to attend to show appreciation for all the hard work that your child has done. It is a time where we can all celebrate and congratulate our students for the efforts they have put into their elementary school years.

We do ask that you limit the number of people attending to 4 people. Chairs will not be provided. You may bring your own. Please do not bring balloons, horns, or umbrellas to the ceremony as these are distractions and may interfere with the sightline of others and be a distraction for the speakers and audience members. Also, we will not be checking out any younger siblings from the school site to attend the ceremony.

For those that would like to continue the celebration after the ceremony and would like to take their child out afterwards, please contact/inform your child's teacher.

Last Day of School is Minimum Day

Our last day of school is Wednesday, June 8th at 12:54 PM. We want to thank all of our students, families, and staff for working so hard this school year and enduring through all of the COVID protocols and changes. We have all grown a great deal this year and are eager and anxious for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year which begins on Wednesday, August 17th. See you all next year!!

Health and Safety Updates

In order to keep our families informed on COVID-19 cases in our school, we will be utilizing the following procedures:

  • All families will be notified weekly of our COVID-19 cases in this section of the Breeze Hill News. Our newsletter usually goes out every Friday at 5:00 PM.
  • If your student is identified as a "close contact" of a COVID-19 positive person on campus, you will be notified immediately by email, text, and phone, and will be provided directions for quarantine.
  • To view COVID-19 cases for the entire district, visit the District COVID Dashboard.
  • Talk with your child(ren) about the proper use of wearing a mask. The mask, when indoors, needs to cover the nose and go below the chin. Masks are not to worn below the nose when indoors.
  • Students who are not able to abide by the proper wearing of the mask will have to speak to Administration.
