BEST at West...Be respectful, Engage in learning, Show integrity, Take responsibility
Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year
Back to School sales are in full swing, the Minnesota State Fair is right around the corner, and it is time to start welcoming our Scarlets back into the building!
Fall sports have started, and it is awesome to see students around the building. Even better is the positive energy they bring!
This newsletter will provide you with important information about upcoming events. If you have any questions about this information, please don't hesitate to call us at 387-3461.
This is going to be the best year yet!
When Can I See My Schedule?
Occasionally students wish to change their programs of study shortly after they receive their schedule. Please keep in mind that teachers are assigned and courses are offered on the basis of the registration process, so we are only able to consider making schedule changes when the following criteria apply:
A. A schedule conflict due to two or more courses being offered in the same hour.
B. PSEO students who need to change their schedule to accommodate college courses.
C. Closed or cancelled courses.
D. Need courses to meet graduation requirements.
E. Special Education requirements
F. To make changes due to summer school credit earned
Students meeting the criteria should submit the appropriate grade level form to have their counselor make the schedule change for them. All schedule changes will be processed via this form, students will not need to schedule a meeting to make a schedule change.
Kick-Off Days, August 25th and August 26th
Here you can find a checklist for all of the things you can do on Kick Off Days.
Please note, prior to checking out chromebooks/textbooks, parents will need to update the census verification form found in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. We will have computers and support available in the main office for those who need to complete the form on the Kick Off Days.
Here will you find a recommended schedule for chromebook checkout. Coming at your designated time will help keep the lines moving. If you are not able to come at your scheduled time, please know you are able to come any time between 8:00am and 4:00pm on both Wednesday or Thursday.
Parking Passes
Seniors and a parent/guardian can complete the parking permit application linked below. Seniors who have completed the application will be able to pay for and pick up their 2021 parking pass in the office during Kick Off days or the first week of school. Seniors must pay $80 for and pick up their parking pass by 3:35 pm on Friday, September 10. The remaining parking passes will be sold via a lottery after this time.

Open House
From 6:30 - 7:00 we invite all of our 9th grade families, families new to West, and any 10th grade families who feel they would like to attend to a meeting in the auditorium for an orientation meeting. Counselors and administrators will be presenting, and will be available for questions. After the presentation, our Link Crew leaders will be available to give building tours to any family who would like one.
School Supplies
Students should plan to bring writing utensils, notebooks, and a folder for the first day of school.
It is recommended that all math students have a TI 84 calculator.
Booster Club
Another way you can help support our activities, is by volunteering. Use this link to sign up for working events or selling apparel.
Booster Club can help with your back to school shopping as they will be selling Scarlet apparel at our Open House night.
Let's get out and support our Scarlets! You can view all of the sports activities on this calendar.
