DUDE, be nice.

Austin High School and Decatur High School have partnered with a California based apparel company, DUDE. be nice, to inspire young people to build a positive community by rallying together to recognize others in fun, creative and meaningful ways. We believe the best way for people to understand kindness is to experience it. Generation Z (17 and under) believe they will be defined by school violence and the negative impacts of social media. Because of this we will focus on teaching compassion and kindness vs. the negative actions associated with "ANTI-bullying".

We will kick this kindness campaign off during the week of December 5-9, 2016 (Austin vs. Decatur – Basketball).

We will focus on two main areas: 1) support/honor groups that do not get recognized very often or are forgotten about at school and 2) supply every student, staff member, worker, and teacher from both schools with a quality t-shirt with our own custom logo.

Our hope is that this week will be a catalyst towards positive change in our immediate and greater communities by giving the entire River City an opportunity to support our students.

For the donation form, click here. For questions contact Joanna Schley (Austin High School) at Joanna.Schley@dcs.edu or Lee Lott (Decatur High School) at Lee.Lott@dcs.edu.

Support "The Rack Pack" Breast Cancer Support Group

Every year the Rack Pack teams up with local high schools to create a breast cancer awareness shirt. Here is the 2016 version. Please support us!

The Rack Pack is continually working to increase its donations to help local individuals in need and to increase breast cancer awareness. All proceeds stay here in the Tennessee Valley.

The group consists of breast cancer survivors, as well as ladies that are in various stages of the breast cancer treatment process.

The Rack Pack meetings are informal and very lighthearted, simply a get together to enjoy each other's company, knowing there is encouragement, emotional support and candid conversation. The goal of The Rack Pack is to offer breast cancer support in addition to raising funds for breast cancer awareness and research. We have lots of fun! Come join us!
