Mengele's Human Experiments
The Experiments
Josef Mengele took advantage to continue his anthropological studies in Auschwitz concentration camp, using the victims as his human experiment. His experiment subjects had no regard to health or safety. His research contained experiments on identical twins, people with two different eye color, and people with any physical abnormalities. He mainly focused on doing these experiments on children, they were fed and housed better than any other ares of the camp and they were safe from the gas chamber. When he went ti visit his subject he would introduce himself as "Uncle Mengele" and would give them candy, they would like him more and think he isn't as bad as the rest of the Nazi party. He was also responsible for sending the Jews to the Gas chamber, believing that they are a dangerous race and that they need to be eliminated.
His son, Rolf, said about his father " He was capable of being so kind to the children, to have them become fond of him, to bring them sugar, to think of small details in their daily lives, and to do things we would genuinely admire ... And then, next to that, ... the crematoria smoke, and these children, tomorrow or in a half-hour, he is going to send them there. Well, that is where the anomaly lay".
His Ending
Mengele died by swimming off from Brazil and drowned, he was buried under a false name and was examined as a forensic in 1985.
