State Standardized Testing Begins This Week

More immediate testing dates for each grade level/subject area are listed on the school calendar below. To find the full list of dates, please see the homepage of our school's website. Parents, thank you for helping children prepare for test days just as you would for any other school day by ensuring they

  • arrive on time (be at school by 8:00am!)
  • get plenty of sleep the night before
  • eat breakfast
  • bring necessary school supplies such as pencils and paper.

  • May 10 - 6th-8th grade SC Ready Testing (ELA Day 2)

  • May 10 - Last Day to RSVP for Volunteer Breakfast (May 24th)

  • May 10 - 8th Grade Dance; 7:00-9:00pm

  • May 13 - 3rd grade SC Ready Testing (ELA Day 2)

  • May 14 - 6th-8th grade SC Ready Testing (Math)

  • May 14 - Spring Band & Strings Concert, 6:00pm

*As a reminder... Please continue to be mindful of our drop-off and pick-up.

  • Have students exit and load the full length of the awing.
  • Keep this area "cell phone free!"
  • Do not let students out at "roundabout" near Phillis Wheatley.
  • Do not let students out in the faculty/staff parking lot along the Phillis Wheatley property.
  • We discourage the use of the parking lot at Tanners. Please utilize our school's driveway.
  • Do not text your child at dismissal and request that they walk to Tanner's without an adult.

Every year, the School Improvement Council provides a Report to Parents. The report provides our school community with many of our school's recent accomplishments, current parent/community involvements, and institutional goals. Relay for Life - 2019 Spirit Week

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Relay for Life Spirit Week! Because of your generosity, we raised over $1,860 for the American Cancer Society. Check out our Facebook page to see highlights from the week, along with a lot of smiles!

As a reminder, all families and friends are invited to attend and support the Sterling School team at this year's Relay. The Greenville Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 4:00-11:00pm at Conastee Park. #BuildingABetterGriffin #WholeChild

Student Wins Writing Award

Fifth grade CTC student, Amelia Robertson, was selected as a winner in the Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District’s 76th Annual Conservation Essay Contest. Her essay on the topic “Life in the Soil, Dig Deeper” was selected as one of the best 5th Grade submissions.

On May 16th, Amelia will receive a $50 check at the organization's annual awards banquet at The Commerce Club. Congratulations, Amelia! #BuildingABetterGriffin #WholeChild
