One-Act Play Auditions!
All students are invited to audition for student-directed one-act plays on Monday, November 14 after school in 125. See you there!
Thanksgiving Basket Donations Collected through Wednesday!
Student Council is collecting Thanksgiving Basket Donations for the Palatine Township Thanksgiving Basket Donation Drive. Student Council is taking action and wants you to be a part of making this event a huge success by giving back to our community. Our goal is to make
15 baskets. Let’s work together to help our community! Go Vikes!
There are three ways to participate:
- Donate non-perishable items found on the list below (drop off at door #1 or #9 to box labeled “Thanksgiving Basket Donations”)
- Donate a Grocery Store Gift Card up to $25 each (drop off to cashier)
- Donate your Time - come to our Student Council Meeting on Thursday, Nov 17th in room 125 to help us make the baskets and walk them over to the Palatine Community Center. Treats will be provided for all who attend.
Donation Basket Items:
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned Fruit
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Cream of Mushroom Soup
- Chicken Broth
- Cranberry Sauce
- Stuffing Mix
- Canned Sweet Potatoes
- Canned Turkey Gravy
- Canned Cranberry Sauce
- Dessert Mix (cake or brownie mix)
- Piecrust Mix and Pie Filling
- Jell-O
- Evaporated Milk
- Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate
- Cereal
- **NO FROZEN TURKEYS ACCEPTED**
Share some gratitude with a "Gratitude Gram"!
Are you looking to show another student, teacher, or staff member that you are thankful for them this month? Have no fear, the On-Call Team is here! On Tuesday, November 15 during all lunch periods, 4-7th, we will be giving out Gratitude Grams in the Main Hallway for everyone to write and send a note to someone at school that they are grateful for.
Nordic Cafe Is Back This Friday, November 18th!
The Nordic Cafe will have its first ALL SCHOOL Cafe Friday, November 18 in the morning at the concession stand from 6:45-7:30am. This will be a cash-only event. There will be separate line for students and staff, so no matter how long the line is, we will get everyone through! Hope to see you then! Click here for the Nordic Cafe Menu.
Orchesis Dance Day Show This Friday!
Teachers will sign up to bring classes to the Orchesis Day Show that will be held in the Kolze Auditoriduring the 2nd half of ALL PERIODS on Friday, November 18th!
Spirit Day and Fall Recognition and Winter Kick-Off Assembly This Friday
Wear your NEON class colors on Friday for our Spirit Day!
- Freshmen: Blue
- Sophomores: Yellow
- Juniors: Orange
- Seniors: Pink
- Staff: Green
We will celebrate the successes of our fall events and welcome our winter competitive teams and activities at this Friday's pep assembly. Students - get ready to cheer for your class representatives and teachers as they battle on the basketball court!
Blood Drive - Tuesday, November 22
Students will be learning about the upcoming Blood Drive in Wellness classes. The actual drive will take place on Tuesday, November 22. Information about permission and waivers will be distributed at the information sessions in Wellness Classes.
Young Hearts for Life - Tuesday, February 14
Mark your calendars for our upcoming Young Hearts for Life event on February 14. More information will be shared in the coming weeks and months as we prepare for this important health screening event.
