Principal's Pride
I would like to acknowledge Spencer Janicki, Jacob Weeks, and Kaylee Stai for demonstrating exemplary character and modeling our school expectations of being safe, respectful and responsible. Spencer supported a peer after he had been targeted in a bullying situation. We all must stand up to bullying behavior and support one another rather than simply looking the other way. Thank you Spencer for not looking the other way but for displaying empathy for a fellow student. Thank you Spencer!
I would also like to acknowledge Jacob and Kaylee for their kindness towards others, both inside and outside of the classroom. We talk about "being a bucket filler", that means that you do things that make others feel good about themselves. Jacob and Kaylee are consistently filling buckets of their classmates. Thank you for being great role models!!

Elementary Building Leadership Team (BLT)
The elementary has a group of educators who have been recommended by their peers to lead our building improvement planning. This team is a representation of our entire building from 4K - 6th grade, including special education, support staff and administration. These 13 individuals will be instrumental in leading our school forward to increasing learning initiatives and ultimately increasing student achievement for all students. The vision of this group is to:
"continually improve professional practice in social & emotional development, mathematics, and English language arts, enabling every teacher to possess the tools and belief needed to create more than a year's growth in a year's time for every student, producing growth minded, emotionally stable, and academically confident students."
Girl Scout Troop Donates Buddy Bench
Buddy Bench Additions to Elementary Playgrounds
Last year the Girl Scouts decided to install Buddy Benches in the elementary playgrounds. The Scouts presented their idea to the school board in the spring and received permission to install one bench in each playground. We are happy to share that the Buddy Benches are now installed. The 4th grade Girl Scout troop shared the use and meaning of the Benches with the elementary students.
A Buddy Bench is a spot where a student that doesn't have someone to play with to go and wait for an invitation to play. When the other students see someone sitting at the Buddy Bench they ask them to join their activity. The student on the Bench joins in the fun.
A huge thank you to Matt Gwiazda & Shawna Swim at MagSteel and Plank Enterprises for creating and donating the benches.

Cadott Youth Football Team
The Cadott Youth Football Team played the Chippewa Falls Southview Bears for 3rd place in this year’s CFYF league. The Hornets came out first scoring a touchdown to make it 6 to 0. The Bears came back with their own touchdown to make it 8 to 6. After a hard fought game the Hornets pulled away winning with a final score of 18 to 8. This season has been a lot of fun and the boys have worked hard to get to this point. With a record of 4 wins and 3 losses for the season we are all very proud of these boys. Go Hornets!

What Is Love and Logic All About?
The Love and Logic Institute is dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic. We provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children. All of our work is based on a psychologically sound parenting and teaching philosophy called Love and Logic.
What Is Love and Logic?
Children learn the best lessons when they're given a task and allowed to make their own choices (and fail) when the cost of failure is still small. Children's failures must be coupled with love and empathy from their parents and teachers.
This practical and straightforward philosophy is backed with 30 years of experience. Parents can apply it immediately to a wide range of situations instead of struggling with difficult counseling procedures
Why Does It Work?
Uses humor, hope, and empathy to build up the adult/child relationship
Emphasizes respect and dignity for both children and adults
Provides real limits in a loving way
Teaches consequences and healthy decision-making
