What's Happening in PBS!

Week of 9/8 - 9/12

The First Update!

First off, I apologize that this is the first update that you are receiving! It has been a crazy time trying to get back into the swing of school mode, but from now on - you should expect a weekly email that updates you on what we are doing in Principles of Biomedical Science (PBS)!

To catch you up, we started this year with the death of Anna Garcia! (oh no!) The goal of this year is for the students to determine how she died. Our first steps in the mystery were to analyze the crime scene. The students have created crime scene sketches, determined what the pills found at the scene were, analyzed the blood, hair, shoe print and fingerprint evidence and examined the possible persons of interest. They have done an experiement to figure out how the ambient temperature effects body cooling after death and then determined what time Anna died that morning. Our latest work has been done with determining where the blood drops at the crime scene came from.

Starting this week, the students will determine how high the blood fell from and finish their collaborative google doc report with their partner that summarzies their results. They will create their class evidence board that recaps all the analysis we have done so far and then its time to assess! We will be reviewing on wednesday and then we test over Lesson 1 on Thursday. Finally, to end out this week, we will be working on the LMS to establish and organize their ePortfolio.

Be sure to check out the pictures below of all the work we have been doing in class!

I hope you have a wonderful week! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
