Notes from Stonehedge Elementary

Message from Stonehedge Elementary School Principal
Dear Stonehedge Families,
We've had a fantastic second week! Our students and staff were busy with universal screening assessments, reviewing expectations in all areas of school, and classrooms have started implementing our academic and social emotional curriculum.
All teachers have been busy helping students learn what it looks like to be respectful, responsible and safe in all areas of school. Mrs. Ratcliff and I were able to train all classes on bus expectations (we even practiced on actual buses-- which was exciting). We've started a new bus incentive called "Bus Wildcat Wows." Drivers are able give students who are meeting expectations a Wildcat Wow. We know our students will feel proud of themselves for being respectful, responsible and safe on the bus! As an added bonus, students get to enter their Wildcat Wows into a weekly raffle drawing for a "surprise." (This week it was ice cream). We hope this will help positively reinforce appropriate expectations on the bus, support drivers and help students feel connected to school while on the bus. We plan to offer Wildcat Wows in special areas, too!
Thank you to all of the families that attended Curriculum Night. We had another great turn out.
I am looking forward to all of the excitement and learning that will take place next week!
Sincerely,
Amanda Simmons
Car Dismissal Information
Thank you for your continued support during dismissal. To help safely speed up the process, please remain in your vehicle at all times. Students will be coming out of the building and staff will assist them to your car. Please plan for students to enter on the passenger side. If students require a booster seat, please have it installed on the passenger side door (if possible). We plan to start loading cars at 3:10. Please do not come before 3:00 pm this creates traffic issues.
