Please encourage your child to bring snow gear to school when the weather is suitable for outdoor recess.
News from Ms. Hess
In math this week we further explored multiplying with fractions. We have learned to multiply a fraction times a fraction, fraction times a whole number, and mixed numbers. Ask your child about the "M-ADD" strategy for turning a mixed number into an improper fraction.
This week in literacy we finished writing a script for recording a Buncee report in collaboration with Mrs. Fox. We collaborated with Mr. Andresen and kids of created a large scale portrait, smaller background image, or large poster of their individual. All this amazing work was on display on Art and Science night.
In science, we discovered conduction, convection, and radiation as forms of energy transfer. We also spent time tracking the weather and weather variables.
Step Up Day
We will leave Amana at 10:30 am and are scheduled to eat lunch in the Middle School cafeteria (regular school lunch or lunch from home), then we will tour the Middle School, and watch the middle school play. We will be back for regularly scheduled dismissal.
