5th grade parents:

This is from Ms. Dickinson. Please read the following for camp information. I've also embedded her newsletter link.

Dear parents and families,

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I spent time with my family on Saturday and then Sunday I spent the entire day watching football with my dogs on the couch :)

Here are some action items for the week:

  • The official cost of camp for students is $140. Please send in your child's money at any time and if you need to make payments, please start those as well.
  • Tomorrow we have Officer Lee coming to talk to our 5th graders about internet safety. Mrs. Donna Fabian sent out an e-mail earlier with more information.
  • Camp Chaperone interest forms are due to me by September 30 if you would like to go into the lottery.
  • Please fill out all other camp forms and return them together as soon as possible.

Here is a link to this weeks newsletter. Please read it at your earliest convenience and please e-mail me with any questions you may have.

Special Olympics:

I want to give everyone a heads up about Special Olympics. I have sent home medical forms to those who need to have their completed/updated in order to participate in the events. I will be going to a meeting next week to receive more details of when we will be attending. Anyone who is 8 or older will be able to participate, so that means everyone in my classroom will have the opportunity to attend. For those of you who are new to Special Olympics, we usually leave in the mornings and don't return until the end of the day. The only time we are gone for a short while, is when we have our practice bowling time which usually is over by about 12:00 or so. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 469-302-7500, or email me.

McGowen Friends,

Our staff has been using a completely hassle-free fundraiser called Shoparoo to earn money for Jesse McGowen Elementary School and would love for you to join us. Shoparoo is a free mobile app that lets you earn cash donations for any school you choose, just by taking pictures of your shopping receipts. It's that easy and just takes a few seconds. The best part is that it doesn't matter where you shop or what you buy - every receipt counts!

There are schools earning hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars a year through Shoparoo, and I want ours to be one of them.

If you use this referral code, we'll earn extra donations for your first qualifying receipt:
