Doing More for Lombard 44: Peter Busack
Peter Busack is a current student at Glenbard East, where he is expected to graduate in May 2023. To fulfill his requirement for the Eagle rank, Peter completed a service project where he planned for, sourced funding for, and helped build a 10’ x 20’ outdoor shed for the Lombard Christian Reformed Church. The shed is used to store hockey and other activity equipment for the church’s Outreach Program. In addition to his Eagle project, Peter has completed the National Youth Leadership Training through the BSA. Beyond earning his Eagle rank, Peter plans to continue participating in troop activities and mentoring younger members through the ranks.

SAVE THE DATE: Kindergarten Pre-Registration is Approaching!
****CURRENT JOHN SCHRODER STUDENTS TO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND PRE-REGISTRATION***
District 44 will offer full-day kindergarten during the 2023-24 school year. Pre-registration for all kindergarten students will be held on Thursday, March 2nd from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and/or Friday, March 3rd from 7:30 - 11:30 AM at all District 44 elementary schools.
Starting February 1st, please pick up a kindergarten pre-registration packet at the front door of your neighborhood school. Packets will be outside Door 14 at Butterfield in the north parking lot.
When all forms are completed, call your school to schedule a packet drop-off appointment on one of the two available dates.
To be eligible for kindergarten this fall, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2023. Parents are required to bring a certified birth certificate to the registration.
Verification of residency in District 44 is also required. A total of three current verification documents must be presented at registration time. One of the following items must be presented: tax bill, lease, mortgage papers, or letter of residence. Two of the following items must also be presented: utility bill (GAS, WATER, ELECTRIC), driver’s license, public aid, vehicle registration, receipt from moving van rental or homeowner's/renters insurance policy.
District 44 residents are urged to tell their friends and neighbors with kindergarten-aged children about the kindergarten registration. Parents who are unable to register their child on March 2nd or March 3rd should contact the school the child will attend between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM by February 15th so that the district can make accurate space and staffing plans for the 2023-24 school year.
