STUDENT IDs NOW REQUIRED FOR SCHOOL BUS RIDERS
The Wenatchee School District recently had RFID readers installed on all buses. These readers work with your student’s ID cards that have been issued from your school. The main purpose of the RFID readers on buses is to obtain an accurate list of students on a bus at any given time, should there be an emergency situation.
Please have your student carry their student ID card with them daily. Beginning Monday April 19th, 2021, all students will start scanning on and off their bus. If your child does not have their ID card on a specific day they should let their driver know. Your child will not be denied a ride. If your student has misplaced their ID card, they should let their school secretary know so that a new one can be issued. However, there is a $5.00 replacement fee for a lost card. If students do not have a card for three days, it will be documented and reported to their school principal.
Thank you for your cooperation in assisting with the launch of this important safety tool for our district.
Should you have any questions feel free to contact the Transportation department at 509-662-6168.

TECHNOLOGY CAREERS FOR WOMEN: 04/20/21 at 5:30pm
This is an outreach event to encourage females to consider career pathways in the IT industry. Many women have never considered careers in IT, yet the US Bureau of Labor Statistic predicts a 12% growth in the field from 2018 -2028. COVID-19 has further heightened the need for IT skilled workers and as demand for remote working and learning grows, growth in IT will follow.
As many individuals struggle with job loss, providing short-term training programs can offset the unemployment gap and restore dislocated workers with jobs of the future.
The panelists will discuss their current positions and how they embarked on their career pathways and obstacles they overcame along the way. Sponsored by Microsoft and Big Bend Community College.

GRADUATION IS COMING!
As we get closer to the date, we will be able to confirm and announce the format for graduation this year.
Our HOPE and PLAN is that we are in a COVID Reopening phase that allows for us to hold the ceremony LIVE at the Apple Bowl with two guests per graduate joining us in-person.
Again, while this is our hope, we are at the mercy of our phase requirements.
So, MASK UP & SOCIAL DISTANCE for our SENIORS!
