Pilot Mountain
A Unique Natural Landmark, where many festivals are held.
Village of Rockford
A very historic village on old rockford road, full of old antique shops and railroads. It even includes the fascinating methodist church from long ago.
NC CIvil War Trail Site
In 1865, Union General George Stoneman led 6,000 cavalrymen on Stoneman's Raid into Western North Carolina to destroy Confederate supplies, blow up mines and ironworks, and to free prisoners. During this process they corrupted many towns but the sparred the beautiful town of Elkin in Surry County, NC
Over mountain Victory National Historic Trail
This trail was used during Revolutionary War and the 1780 campaign to Kings Mountain by the VA Militia. The trail shows their route as they tracked down the British.
Dobson
The county seat of Surry is Dobson (as shown above). There are 5 members of the town council. The Town manager is Josh Smith and the Mayor of this amazing town is Ricky Draughn. The town has many attractions but its main attraction is Shelton Vineyards which is the largest winery in North Carolina.
