Bowling At State!

Our Hobart High School Girls and Boys Bowling teams were showstoppers this year! They had strikes, they had double strikes, they had Turkeys, and they were unstoppable. The camaraderie of these two teams was easily seen from the lanes. They were confident, humble, encouraging, fierce, and inspiring with their teamwork and talents. Finishing the season strong, both teams bowled their way to STATE which they competed in Fort Wayne against many other schools. In the end, our Lady Brickies walked away with a 6th place finish and our boys team finished with a 4th place finish! They had some intense competition and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments. Great job, Brickies!

Speech And Debate

Participating in Speech and Debate is no easy feat. In fact, a lot of work goes in to the preparation of these events and when you have three different event categories with two rounds each, the challenges are there. However, our Brickies are amazing and definitely know how to work, work, work which is why they did phenomenal at the debate tournament that took place this past month!

  • In interpretive speech events: Madison Jones (9th grade) in third place, Brennis Carrillo and Elijah Puente (both 11th grade) tied for second place, and Sincere Cannon (12th grade) in first place.
  • In public address speech events: Aoife Combs (11th grade) and Calle Hairston (12th grade) tied for second place, while Kenjie DeCastro and Ian Rodriguez (both 10th grade) tied for first place.
  • In congressional debate, our third place legislator was Kevin Ray (12th grade), our second place legislator was Brennis Carrillo (11th), and our first place legislator was Ian Rodriguez (10th grade).

Great job to all of the Brickies and to those that helped them along the way. It was a great inaugural year in Speech and Debate!

7th and 8th Grade Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra Rocked The House!

We cannot express how amazing it is to have music back in our schools! Last month our 6th grade band took the stage and this month we had our Middle School Orchestra and 7th and 8th grade Jazz Band perform as well! As always, it was incredible to hear live music in the auditorium and seeing the pride that our Brickies showed while playing was priceless. They work so hard learning their instruments, memorizing music, and making their performances GOLD worthy that we are proud to have them performing live in our schools again. Great job to each and every one of you!
