Hoopeston Area is currently looking into a K-8 program for students who need a little extra time to grow due to the current pandemic and academic gaps. With the mandated closures of schools in March, academic gaps in curriculum have been experienced by some students. This program would be aimed at attempting to close those achievement gaps that those students are experiencing. The program details are still being worked out. Our goal is to get our students back on track and prepared for the next grade level.
The Maple PTO will be rolling out a virtual fundraising event for Maple Grade School in the next month or two. Typically, we host a schoolwide fundraiser in September/October. However, due to the pandemic, we weren't able to host our usual fundraiser. This fundraising effort is critical to the betterment of our programs and school at Maple. In the past we have been fortunate to purchase alternative classroom seating, revamp the Maple library, purchase new stage curtains, and the list goes on. Once the fundraiser is finalized, Maple will get the information sent home. We thank you in advance for supporting the Maple PTO efforts.
I hope you have a wonderful new year!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Root
