2023/24 Scheduling Update
- Students can view their course requests for the 2023/24 school year in the StudentVue app.
- The Curriculum Office has been building the master schedule of classes for the 2023/24 school year and are working through course conflicts with student schedules.
- If you see what you feel is an error in your course requests, you may email the Curriculum Office staff: leigh.wach@gcpsk12.org & luann.poteete@gcpsk12.org
- Registration materials will be reviewed to determine if an error exists. Please understand that some requests for change in placement/level were denied due to students currently not performing in the A range in the current subject area class.
- Student classes may have also changed since registration due to class schedule conflicts. Course registration sheets and alternates were used in making these changes.
- As a reminder, students were able to request changes to their schedules during the registration process in February. Students may no longer request changes to courses in their schedules as we built the master schedule of courses based on what students registered for in February.
- If a student plans to take a course over the summer that is currently in the student’s course requests, please complete the Summer School Intent form using the link or QR code below so that the Curriculum Office will know what course you desire after they have received final grades for summer classes. Please understand that requested classes may or may not be available due to space.
Summer School Intent Form & Schedule Adjustment Due to Summer Courses: https://forms.office.com/r/pDNbrhXU5Q
- The Curriculum office will send an email in May for students to complete a form if they will be taking summer classes.
Tip Of The Week
Are You Running Late to an Appointment?
Remember the quickest way to check out a student is to follow the instructions below.
If a student must leave school before 1:30 for a pre-arranged appointment, the student must check-out at the Attendance Office and follow the procedures below:
- Prior to school starting, the student should provide the Attendance Office with a note from the parent or guardian stating the date, the time requested for the check-out, and the reason.
- The student absence due to checking out will only be excused if it meets one of the GCPS approved reasons.
- The student is then provided with a check-out pass to be shown to the classroom teacher at the time of the check-out. This pass should be brought to the Attendance Office to complete the check out process.
- If the parent cannot be contacted, the student will not be allowed to check out. A parent or guardian must be contacted to grant permission before a student is allowed to leave campus. Students will only be dismissed to the parent or guardian or the emergency contact listed in the Parent Portal. Students who leave campus without following the check out procedures will be considered AWOL from school and disciplined accordingly.
Please remember there are NO CHECKOUTS after 1:30 or over the phone.
For more information of PHS attendance policies, please see our website.
Parent/Guardian Verification Is Mandatory
Did You Know?
The Attendance Office is where you can pick up your ADAP certificate and your Certificate of Enrollment after you order them on MyPaymentsPlus.
When you order during the summer, the ADAP and Certificate of Enrollment will be mailed to the address on file with the school.
Please Be On Time Daily
- As a reminder, school begins at 7:15am. We are aware that traffic is heavy. Please leave home early enough to arrive to school and be in 1st period on time. Thank you for helping us have your student to school on time!
- If a student arrives to school after 7:30am, the student MUST check-in through the Attendance Office. If a student needs to leave school for any reason after arriving to school, the student MUST have a note or the parent/guardian must check them out through the Attendance Office. The Attendance Office is located inside the main building lobby.
- No students may check themselves out without a parent note turned in before school.
Don't Forget Your Chromebook
Please remember to bring your FULLY CHARGED Chromebook Daily! It is important to have these everyday for class use.
Please Don't...
- Bring outside food or have it delivered to anywhere on the school grounds, but please do finish any outside food before you arrive on campus and enter the school.
- Have flowers/balloons/gifts delivered to the school, but please enjoy your celebration at home.
- Expect to check your student out after 1:30, but please do have your student bring a note first thing in the morning so they can get a pass to check-out before 1:30.
Please remember that school appropriate clothes are always required on campus.
