Art Styles of the 1800s
Realism
This work of art called The Gleaners by: Jean-Francios Millet, is considered realist art due to the fact that it is EXTREMELY realistic. It also shows the hard work that peasants go through. This is realism also due to that they are representing it as real life and not the life we wish to see.
Romanticism
This work of art, named Ossian by: Anne Louis-Giordet, an example of romanticism because there is so much going on at once that it almost seems imaginary. Also it goes against the regulated social convention because it clearly depicts god which not everyone agreed with it.
Impressionism
This painting, otherwise known as Starry Nights, is one of the most recognizable and important impressionist painting of all time. This is because it is very unrealistic and very random. It is the exact opposite of the realistic painting just two paintings to the left. This painting was by Vincent Van Gough.
Photography
This photograph called Telekinetic Poppinjays by: York, is an example of photography because this was taken with a camera and it is a picture.
Post-Inpressionism
This painting named, Sunrise by: Claudia Monet, is a perfect example of the Post-Impression art they was there. It was a bit more realistic but still consisted of the random patchiness that Impressionist art had before.
