COVID-19 Update
Following the island's move into Stage 3 of Lockdown exit on Friday and the announcement that students could start returning to the College, I would like to take this opportunity to clarify the following points:
- Initially, only those students who need essential assessments for occupational competence will be invited into the College during the two weeks beginning 1 June
- Students will be informed of the date and time they need to attend by their Tutor
- A procedure for entering and exiting the campus/while students are on campus will be produced and shared with relevant students, and this must be adhered to
- Students must not arrive at any of the college campuses if they have not been informed they may attend
- Students will continue to study online until further notice

New part-time Course! Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Music
If you know someone who is passionate about music we are launching an exciting new part-time course for aspiring local musicians, the first in Guernsey to offer students the opportunity to study popular music at this level. Equivalent to one A’ level, the two-year part-time course is run in collaboration with the School of Popular Music (SOPM) and is suitable for all instrumentalists or vocalists who have some proficiency and the passion to develop as a performer.
The main emphasis is on performing both as a soloist and as part of an ensemble, and there are units focusing on creating your own pieces using music software, and written units exploring popular music and the music industry, for example.

Fundraising
Business student Nico is raising money for the Guernsey Covid-19 Response Appeal
Nico's (pictured below) gofundme page reads: Hello, my name is Nicholas Johansson and I am 17 years old from Guernsey which is based in the Channel Islands. Tomorrow, the 5th May I will be doing a 24 hour charity live stream in an attempt to raise as much money as possible which will be donated to the Guernsey COVID 19 Response Appeal. The stream will include game play, reading through stories of the coronavirus across the World and also music and challenges. I hope that we can all help and make a difference to the charities which have been affected most. Anything and everything is dearly appreciated and I hope we can all prove we're able to all come together to take down this virus once and for all. Let's smash it!
Well done Nico from all at College, we are very proud of your efforts.

Why not encourage your son/daughter/ward to write a letter to a care home resident, pop it in the post box and make someone smile! You may even like to write one yourself.

The College’s preferred method of contact with parents and carers is via email. Please add the email address of your child/ward's course Customer Liaison Office to your list of ‘safe senders’ or to your contacts list/address book to ensure communications from them arrive directly into your inbox, rather than going into ‘junk’ or ‘spam’.
As you will be contacted directly by the relevant CLO regarding events specific to your child/ward’s course/programme area, it is important that they have an up-to-date email address for you. Their details are listed below.
