Clarks Creek students have PRIDE!

Ensuring that ALL students carry themselves with pride and confidence beyond our doors as honorable, skillful learners and thinkers, ready to enrich our world.

Dear Staff,

Only four more days in the semester! We still have lots to do to finish up. While working so hard to complete everything that has to be done, don't forget to stop and take time to really enjoy the kids that you work with every day. This is the best time of the year to remember the joys of the Christmas season through the eyes of a child.

Have a wonderful, fun week, and enjoy some rest and relaxation over the break!

Have a SUPER week!

Announcements and Reminders

  • Thursday is Elf Day for staff! This is also a student council "Holiday Dress Up" fundraiser day for Samaritan's Purse. Please encourage ALL students to wear holiday attire; if they are able to bring a dollar that is great, but we'll hope to have 100% participation in festive attire.
  • Please remind your students that they must wear "real" shoes to and from school on pajama day. Slippers may be worn in the classroom (at teacher discretion).
  • We will be on the alternate schedule on Monday. We will begin calling down classes to the gym about 2:25 for our convocation.
  • I hope you can ALL stay after school and help us create a holiday wish for our colleagues in the district on Wednesday afternoon. Do not worry if you are not a "singer" - it will still be fun! We will record a fun song to send to others to spread some Clarks Creek holiday cheer. It should only take about 20 minutes, and then you can stay for milk and cookies!
  • Friday before you leave, you may want to complete the January value nominee form, because it will be due the Monday we return. You may also want to complete awards for the PRIDE convo, which will be on the Friday we return. Please use the brightly colored paper from the main office cabinet for your awards this month. We will put some on the counter for your use.
  • Remember that the Dumpster Drummers are coming on Thursday morning! Anyone who would like to attend may come for the 10:00 show as a reward for the school's recycling efforts and success of the "Waste-Free Lunch" Project.

Just a reminder that the last student day, December 17th this year, we encourage ALL STAFF to dress as elves for the day! This has become a great Clarks Creek tradition, and the kids just love it! We hope to see you all "elf-ed out" on the 17th! :) We'll meet in the morning at 8:00 a.m. in Town Hall to greet all the elves and will take a big group picture about 8:15. (The Secret Santa reveal is during that time, as well, but you do not have to be participating in that to come at 8:00!)

A Note for You

Dave Smyth, student teacher with Kevin Johnston, has completed his work with us. He asked me to share this note with you.

Clarks Creek Staff,

Thank you so much for including me as one of your own during my time here at Clarks Creek. Whether you let me observe your classroom, answered questions, offered advice, or just said, "Good morning," it has been a warm and inviting environment. I wish you continued success.

David Smyth
