Pine Hollow Middle School
Pine Hollow News: September 29, 2020
Believe it or not, there are less than three weeks left in the 1st Quarter! To that end, we wanted to hear from kids about how things have gone for them so far this quarter. We emailed students a survey yesterday asking them about Distance Learning, virtual clubs, and Site Council. Many students have already responded and provided great feedback, but please ask your child to complete this student survey if they haven't done so already.
One thing we already noticed from survey responses is that some students are feeling overwhelmed by staying on top of everything. If your child is struggling with organization or time management, you may want to try the following:
- Clean out their email inbox. Students need help decluttering their email, setting up labels (folders), and turning off Classroom notifications. Our staff has been assisting students with these things, but they probably could use your help as well.
- Try this Mustang Learning Organizer. This should help them get more organized and on top of their schedule, assignments, and tasks.
- Email their teachers. View our Staff Directory to email teachers and ask them for clarification, support, etc.
Although this hasn't been an easy start to the school year, I appreciate all of your hard work at home to support your kids. As a parent, I know how hard it is right now to juggle work, life, and distance learning. There's a lot going on right now, and kids need more support than ever before, so thank you for everything you are doing from your end. Reach out if you need anything and have a great week!

PBIS Student Store Items Needed... Win an Echo Show!
We are launching our PBIS program to students on October 14th during virtual school rallies. PBIS is the system we use to honor, reward, and recognize students for showing Mustang PRIDE. Students who are Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Engaged earn Pride Points that they can "spend" at our student store for fun prizes and items.
The PTSA is helping us get items donated to our student store, so they are raffling off an Echo Show from Amazon to help encourage donations. What is an Echo Show? It uses Alexa to video call and message, play movies, books, and music, control your cameras, lights, and thermostats, display photos, and follow recipes.
How the raffle works... purchase an item from our Amazon wish list, and forward your order to email@example.com. Items will ship directly to the school. You will receive one entry for every $10 your spend. This is a great way to support our students and help them stay motivated and encouraged during Distance Learning.
