Guidelines for Halloween
Please note that costumes are permitted in school on Halloween. However, no hats, masks or weapons are permitted. Halloween is a full day of school with regular instruction. All costumes must fit within the guidelines of our dress code policy. (Shoulders and backs must be covered. Garments must cover the midriff. Shoes, sneakers, or sandals must be worn in school. Boys’ pants must be worn at the waistline. With regard to lengths of skirts, dresses, shorts, skorts, etc., mid-thigh in length or longer will be used to determine appropriateness. Students are not permitted to wear, carry &/or display coats, hats, bandanas, headgear or outerwear of any kind during school, unless required to do so for religious customs or medical conditions. Only sweaters, sweatshirts, or sweat suit jackets may be worn in class. All other clothing must be kept in the school locker. Please refer to Page 14-15 of our “Student Handbook” for additional information regarding our dress code.) Remember, buses can refuse you passage if your costume is too large or is considered a risk to your safety or the safety of others!

School Picture Retake Day
The picture make-up/retakes session is scheduled for November 3rd. In order to retake pictures, students must return their picture packets. If your child missed getting his/her picture taken on Picture Day, he/she can have pictures taken at this time. Picture ordering forms for make-ups are located by the main reception area or online at www.lorsstudio.com and click on undergrad online prepay. Our log in code is 18-19SB.

Class of 2019 selling pies!
Support the Class of 2019 and buy a farm-fresh pie from Griggstown Farms! There are sweet fruit pies, savory pot pies, and Shephard's pie (new for Fall). Your student can even win a chance to hand deliver a specialty cream pie to a teacher - in their face! - at the winter pep rally! Every pie your student sells, or buys, will earn them twenty tickets in our "special delivery" raffle. Orders need to be returned by November 8th. Yearbook Information
Tuesday is the LAST and FINAL day to order a yearbook at the early bird price of $80. Beginning Wednesday, November 1st, yearbooks will cost $90. Go to www.balfour.com to place your order. Only pre-ordered yearbooks will be available for pick up in June.
Class of 2020
The Sophomore Class Council would like to thank everyone who donated to their Direct Relief initiative benefiting hurricane victims. $1,000 was donate to the cause.

The Sophomore Class Council is selling black and pink "Class of 2020" student ID lanyards for $2.00 See a class council member to purchase one.
Class of 2020 Holiday Shopping Trip
Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 9th! The Sophomore Class Council will once again be sponsoring a holiday shopping trip to the King of Prussia Mall. Buses will leave at 9 am and return by 5 pm. Permission forms will be available in the next few weeks.

the 5k Run begins at 10:00 AM, and the Kiddie Dash begins at 11:00am. Join us for a great day!
VIKING ATHLETIC CLUB MEETING (The 2nd Tuesday of Every Month)
The next Viking Athletic Club meeting is Tuesday, November 14th 7PM in the Faculty Dining Room. Parents please join us.
The Viking Athletic Club has subscribed to a software based program know as CORECOURSE. (See details) http://www.sbschools.org/schools/sbhs/athletics/docs/CoreCourseGPA.pdf. It is important to know that CoreCourseGPA.com, a web-based software program is available to all South Brunswick High School student-athletes and their parents/guardians free of charge. If your child has aspirations of competing athletically as a freshman at an NCAA Division I or Division II school, they must meet NCAA Initial-Eligibility minimum standards, including minimum core course GPA and SAT/ACT test score requirements. CoreCourseGPA.com is an innovative tool that allows you to easily track your son or daughter’s progress towards meeting these requirements, beginning as soon as the first semester of their freshman year. Please go to the high school athletic website and under the title of NCAA INFORMATION AND CLICK ON CORECOURSE . It will link you directly to the website and provide you with the log on ID and Passwords to access this program.
REMINDER – Physicals are past due for winter sports . This is your last change to submit your WINTER PHYSICAL PAPERWORK – you will not be permitted to tryout without the proper physical clearance. Physicals can be downloaded at: http://www.sbschools.org/schools/sbhs/athletics/physicals.php (If you have already done a fall sport, you still are required to hand in certain forms.)

PTO Shoe Drive Underway
SBHS PTO Shoe Drive
The PTO is collecting gently worn, used and new shoes.Not only do you help us but the shoes are then used to help start micro-enterprises in developing nations like Haiti. It’s a double donation!
Collection bins are located in the High School front entrance and gym as well as the South Brunswick Public Library across from their cafe. Collection ends December 31st. Please spread the word!
PTO Membership dues are $15 per family. Membership allows your child to be eligible for a $500 PTO scholarship their Senior year. To be eligible you have to be a paid PTO member by December 31st of each of the years your child attended SBHS.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES- Pay to Participate
Please be advised that students in Advanced Placement courses MUST pay a $50.00 registration fee per course to meet the Pay to Participate requirement. The period for registration is October 15, 2017 – November 15, 2017. The registration fee is applied to the cost of Advanced Placement course materials and training for teachers. Keep in mind that the $50.00 course registration fee is separate from the AP Exam Ordering fee.
To complete the registration requirement for an Advanced Placement course, please log onto the South Brunswick High School Website. Under “Quick Links,” please select the “Pay to Participate Registration Information.” Select “ONLINE PAYMENTS - Click Here to register for all Pay to Participate and Community Education Programs.” (Instructions for online payments are available below this link on the website.)
