Back to School Reminders - August 25, 2023
The first day of school for District 33 students is as follows:
- Thurs., Aug. 31, 2023: 1st - 8th grade (full day of classes)
- Fri., Sept.1, 2023: Kindergarten students
- Wed., Sept. 6, 2023: Preschool students
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
We are excited to welcome the D33 Class of 2036!
Kindergarten orientation will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Your elementary school will send more information with specific times.
MEET AND GREET & SCHOOL SUPPLY DROP OFF
Preschool
Information regarding preschool orientation and meeting the staff will be sent directly to parents through the mail. Information coming soon!
Elementary Schools
All elementary school students and their parents/guardians are invited to a "Meet and Greet" at their school.
Date: Wednesday, August 30, 2023
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Place: All Elementary Schools
This is a time for children and parents to meet their new teacher, the building principal, and the assistant principal and drop off school supplies in the classroom.
LMS WALK YOUR SCHEDULE
Students and parents are invited to walk the halls of LMS and find their classes in this open-house event. There are no formal presentations given. It is simply an opportunity for students to explore the building and prepare for the first day of school!

BUS ROUTE INFORMATION - CHECK NOW!
Bus route information for students in Kindergarten - 8th grade is available in the Home Access Center and on the D33 Mobile App. Parents must be logged into the D33 Mobile App to view the information.
Please check your child’s pickup and drop-off times and locations.
If you have questions about bus transportation or wish to request a change, please contact your building secretary.
PHYSICALS AND IMMUNIZATIONS
It is a state requirement that all students entering Kindergarten and 6th grades have a recent physical and updated immunization. Forms must be turned in by the first day of school.
All students entering 7th and 8th grade interested in participating in ANY extracurricular sports at Leman Middle School MUST have a sports physical completed. Students will NOT be able to participate in tryouts without a CURRENT Sports Physical on file.

Substitute Teachers Needed

5K Run/Walk Adult (18 and older): $30.00
Resident 5K Run/Walk Adult: $25.00
5K Run/Walk Student (17 and under) $10.00 (first 50 District 33 students FREE with code: D33)
1 Mile Youth Run (10 and under) $5.00
*All registrants will receive the commemorative 5K Fun Run t-shirt!
The first 100 to register will receive a race day bag filled with goodies!
* You must register by September 1st to be guaranteed your shirt size.
Day of Registration: Registration will be open on the day of the event and will be at Reed-Keppler Park west of the ARC Center under the white Healthy West Chicago tent. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m.
Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up:

In-person registration is available during packet pick-up!

5K Trophy: One Overall Male and One Overall Female Winner
1 Mile Kid Run Trophy: One Overall Runner Winner
5K Age Place Medals: Age groups: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place medals (male/female winner)
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are also looking for volunteers if you are not interested in running but would still like to participate.
