Sunrise Family Updates
12.8.23
Hi Sunrise Families!
Hi All - I hope this message finds you well! Today your child is bringing home a Sunrise t-shirt order form. We are really excited to begin this tradition; every incoming Sunrise student will receive a free t-shirt. As this is the first year, everyone will receive one. Next year all 3rd grade students will receive one. Please fill out one form for each child and return it by next week Friday, December 15th.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update and enjoy the photos below. We can't wait to see everyone at the concert next Friday (I just walked by the music room and it sounds like little angels singing)!
Sincerely,
Katie Smullen
Sunrise Principal
Not Just a Food Drive
Please send food, hygiene supplies, etc. through December 15th!
Snuggle Up with a Good Movie!
Common Sense Media reviews movies, TV shows, podcasts, books, apps, websites, and more for children and gives free expert reviews including age recommendations. Their Best of 2023 list just came out, and they also have a user-friendly and highly functional site that allows parents to look up media based on a number of filters. There are also more specific lists like Best Winter Break Movies for Kids and Best Podcasts for Kids Who Love Reading, and others that highlight different cultural backgrounds, like Great Movies with Latino Stars. This is a great resource to help make thoughtful and responsible media choices for our children.
I often check this site before we watch a movie as a family. It is a great site!

Special thanks to all of our instructors who creatively designed their classes and will be teaching this upcoming series. I hope many of you will be interested in also taking one or more of these classes. Sign up now through the end of December.

Holiday Concert Info!
Sawyer and Sunrise students will have a concert rehearsal in the SBHS gym Friday, Dec. 15th during the school day and be dismissed at the end of the school day as usual. Parents are asked to bring their first grade-5th grade child/ren to SBHS the evening of Dec. 15th for their 6:00 pm concert in the HS Gym. Parking available in the parking lot behind the HS. Parents will drop off students in the MS Commons (located directly across from the HS Gym.) Students will be brought to the gym by grade level and seated in the visitor side bleachers. All students will perform the entire concert expected to last approximately 45 minutes. Dismissal after the concert will be by grade level beginning with first grade. We are so excited to see all of our families together to celebrate the holidays and all our children in one location. We truly hope to see you all there!
