CAMPO CONNECTION Newsletter

Edition 15: November 10, 2021

Dear Parents, Students, and Staff

I am wishing everyone a fun and safe four day weekend as you celebrate Veteran's Day. I want to personally thank all our Veteran's in the Campo Community and across the nation for their service to our great country. As a first generation American whose parents were both war refugees and immigrated to America in 1955, I was instilled with the value of the American Dream and the deep appreciation for the freedoms we are provided in our country. Freedom isn't free, and our veteran's are my heroes. Thank you.

Character Card Celebration

Students are so appreciative when staff notice them acting with stellar character: Respectful, Responsible, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Citizenship. Students receive a character card, and we have random celebrations such as popcorn parties, ice cream parties, and prizes. This Monday I will be starting our minimum day week with an Ice Cream Float party to kick off the week of Gratitude. I'll post the names of the students in next week's newsletter. Stay tuned....

GRATITUDE

A huge shout out to Mrs. Pierce, our student council, and all the families who donated to our Fall Food Drive. This activity supports one of the character traits, CITIZENSHIP, teaching kids about thinking of ways to give back to our community and people in need. THANK YOU!

New All-CAll System - Catapult

Our district purchased a new and improved all-call system where we can return to more phone, email, and text messages. Also, this system will be replacing the SMORE newsletter. With this new and improved system means a learning curve for me to figure it out. Please be patient with me while I learn how to use it. Hopefully, I won't be sending an all call at 5 AM instead of 5 PM like I did my first year as a principal. oooops. LOL
