Safety Kit Wish List
In light of tragedies across the nation and in our own school district, Quail Hollow Middle School staff have engaged in both Active Survivor Training with a CMPD officer and begun to engage in regularly scheduled tabletop drills with our School Resource Officer, Officer Williams. The safety of our students is our number one priority and we will continue to collaborate with experts to help us be prepared in the best way possible. In collaborating with experts, we also learned about the opportunity to equip each classroom with a Safety Kit. The School Leadership Team's safety committee is seeking the help of Falcon Families to help secure items for these kits. If you can help, check out the Amazon Wish List here.

Water Quality: A Letter from Principal Neill
Dear Quail Hollow Middle families and faculty,
We are writing you to advise you of the results of water testing recently conducted at our school. No problems were found with our water and plumbing.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools began voluntary testing of all sources of water intended for drinking, food preparation or cooking in 58 schools last year. Earlier this fall, we began voluntary testing of an additional 35 sites, screening for lead and copper in the water. This was a proactive program of testing done because we put a top priority on student and staff safety and health.
Our school was among those 35 chosen for testing. CMS partnered with an environmental consulting firm, AECOM, to conduct the water testing. AECOM conducted its testing on Oct. 25, working before and after school hours to avoid disruption to the academic day. In all, 36 water-consumption points were tested.
This proactive testing ensures that our students and staff have access to clean, safe drinking water and water for other uses, such as cooking. This letter is part of our effort to share all water-testing information with you. You can see the full results of the testing, including the fountains and faucets that were tested, at the CMS Water Testing Program page on our website (www.cms.k12.nc.us). If you have any additional questions, contact Dan Collins, the district’s environmental health and safety manager, at EHS@cms.k12.nc.us or call 980-343-4879.
Again, we are pleased to report that no problems were found with our drinking fountains and faucets.
Thank you for choosing CMS.
Sincerely,
Rachael Neill, principal
