Clean drinking water to Ethiopia
charity: water (About)
This is Scott Harrison.
The story began when he went on a holiday to Uruguay in 2004, when while being hungover, read a book his father had sent him, called The Pursuit of God, The book was about a man chasing after the heart of God -- wanting to know him more and live righteously. That, combined with seeing the people in the nearby village struggle with daily problems, encouraged him to start charity: water. On his 31st birthday, Harrison threw a party in a nightclub in Manhattan, charging $20 entry, with the promise that all the money raised would go to drilling wells in Africa.
