Week of February 4th
What's Happening?
Thank you for all your support on our first Digital Learning Day this year. All three classes had further training this past week on Digital Day procedures. Students must complete these assignments as soon as possible.
As the weather begins to get colder, it is required that students are dressed appropriately for recess in order to go outside with the group. Please encourage your child to bring a heavy coat and wear pants (not shorts) on the cold days ahead.
February conference sign-ups start today. Be sure to look for an informational email as well as a letter in your child's Friday Folder.

Reading: We are continuing to focus on identifying an author's claim, reasons and evidence to support his claim. We are comparing multiple authors' claims and reasons. We will also spend some time this week working on test taking skills in preparation for the GMAS in April.
Word Study: odont, dent - word study homework is due Friday. Test will be on Friday as well.
Writing with Mrs. Rogers
Science and Social Studies with Ms. Wiley
Students have reviewed their test in class and written down the retake date of 2/5 in their agendas. If your student chooses to retake this assessment they must complete the Summative Mastery Ticket AND attach all associated work to the ticket. I must have the completed ticket and work on the day of the retake or your student will not be able to retake this assessment. Remember that students can only retake 2 assessments per subject, per semester.
Looking Ahead:
Our next unit will be focused on the Cold War. We will begin this unit on Thursday 2/7.
Science:
Next week: We will complete our Earth's Surface unit. Students will complete their learning about constructive, destructive forces, weathering, erosion, and deposition. This is a large unit and students should be reviewing these new concepts nightly. The test will be on 2/6. Students have their study guide.
