Reggaeton Music

Reggaeton music is a mix of Jamaican dancehall rhythms. It is derived from reggae, and Latin merengue, bomba, plena and sometimes salsa. It fuses electronic, hip hop, Spanish and Spanish rap to form a complicated mix.
Where and When
The creation can be traced back to the Panama's style of reggae. This actually originated in Puerto Rico in fact, it evolved from Reggae to Reggaeton. Reggae ton didn't become popular until the late 80's; it was first known as a type of underground music.

The movies involve pelvic thrusts and grinding incorporated throughout the whole dance in different variations.

A type of Reggaeton dancing is known as Sanguendo. This dance emerged in Puerto Rico in the early 2000's.

Reggaeton attained something that son, mambo, salsa,merengue, and bachata never could. It found it self favored in the mainstream US culture.
